You call your cable TV company to cancel your $100 per month service. However, you retain internet service because you intend on streaming your media (and of course, you need internet too!)
That was at least the plan. Then, this happened…
- YouTube TV was activated. It was $35 per month at the time.
- Everything is going great until the initial price increase to $40.
- As new channels are added, the price jumps up to $50.
- We’re not done yet, after the biggest hike, we’re now sitting at $65 per month.
After dropping your cable, don’t make this cord-cutting mistake
This may sound familiar. You might be thinking, $100 per month for cable TV and $65 per month for YouTube TV. So you are still ahead.
We’re not quite through yet. Let’s not forget about your monthly subscriptions.
- Netflix is your best friend. This is $13 per month.
- Let’s not forget the kids, you’ve added Disney Plus. Hulu and ESPN+ are great options for everyone in your house. It’s only $14
- You sign up for HBO Max so you can binge-watch Friends. It’s only $15 per month.
Add it all up — YouTube TV and Netflix, Disney Bundle, HBO Max, and HBO Max — and you get $107 per month.
This is about the same price as you would pay for cable…
Many cord-cutters use a live streaming service as well as one or two on-demand services.
As streaming experts, we have noticed a pattern in behavior with people who had a satellite or cable subscription. Let’s take a look at the main difference between streaming and cable.
As an example, taken from Xfinity’s site.
The plan bundles internet and TV with 125 channels. It costs $100 per month, before taxes and fees.
The taxes vary depending on where you live, but broadcast TV and regional sports fees can add $20.
This deal is only valid for 24 months. After the first two years, the price will go up and you’ll be charged an early termination fee.
This is not a bad deal. The good news is that most streaming services don’t have long-term commitments!
But streaming services, like the ones mentioned above, are limited, and you’ll usually need to subscribe to more than one service in order to get the programming you want or to get back what you’re used to.
Now, our fees are adding up, and in most cases, you’re spending above and beyond what you were on cable, and have LESS than you did before.
Now, the solution:
Why is it that so many people cancel their cable and sign up for live TV streaming services and then continue to pay more — without ever looking around to find a better deal.
After dropping cable, cord-cutters make this mistake time and time again. There is a product that exists that is the true cord-cutting solution. Imagine all of the worldwide television you could ever want to or could watch. Add in all of those extra services mentioned above, and sprinkle in other programming.
This product saves families on average $1200 a year on their television and media programming and it also gives them new programing choices that they didn’t have before.
